Cossano Belbo, Langhe, Piemonte

We fell in love with this region many years ago, through visiting Paul's Italian relatives and were lucky enough to be able to move here. The area is a food lovers’ paradise, with arguably some of the best cuisine and wine in Italy.

Our local village, Cossano Belbo has all the facilities you could need. The two general stores are a good standby for food and there is an excellent bakery. Just outside the village, Carne Valle Belbo is the butcher that supplies all the top restaurants in the area. Not only that, we are lucky enough to have 4 good restaurants in the village!

10 minutes away is the town of Santo Stefano Belbo, famous as the birthplace of Italian author Cesare Pavese. There are several good bars and restaurants as well as a couple of supermarkets.

The larger towns of Alba, Asti, Canelli and Acqui Terme are all within a 35 minute drive and the airports of Genoa and Turin are both in easy reach.

Throughout the summer there are village festivals celebrating wines such as Barolo, Barbaresco, nebbiolo, dolcetto, moscato and many more. As always these go hand in hand with local specialities such as salame, bollito, tajarin, nuts, cheeses and the famous white truffle.

We appreciate that many people want to enjoy a peaceful and undisturbed holiday, but for those who want it we will also be happy to share our knowledge and experiences with you.
